Neither is 'better'; they're set up differently. Here's how they compare. Booking: Isha asks you to create a profile on suvya.isha.in and submit a visit request, and it doesn't take walk-ins. Sivananda requires advance booking for single and shared rooms, but dormitory beds need no booking. Length of stay: a normal visit to Isha is capped at 1 week, or 2 weeks if you've been initiated into Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya. Sivananda ashrams have a 3-day minimum, or 7 days at Sivananda Kutir. Cost: Isha's cost depends on your accommodation and programs. Sivananda's daily rate covers classes, food and accommodation. Daily routine: Isha serves two vegetarian meals a day, eaten in silence, and offers 30-minute Isha Kriya/Upa-Yoga sessions daily. Sivananda serves brunch, an afternoon tea with a snack, and dinner. Guests do one hour of karma yoga daily, and Friday is a free day. Neither can cater to special diets.
