Many ashrams welcome foreign guests, but stay limits differ. Amritapuri says everyone is welcome to stay at any time. International visitors are asked to register online before arriving and to bring a passport plus copies of the passport and visa. At Isha Yoga Center, a visit is normally capped at 1 week, or 2 weeks if you've been initiated into Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya. If you want to volunteer for longer, you can apply for an extended stay and will meet the Overseas Coordination Office after the first 2 weeks. Isha's 7-month Sadhanapada program is not open to people on a tourist visa. Sri Ramanasramam allows foreign nationals a maximum of 14 days. Sivananda ashrams have a 3-day minimum, or 7 days at Sivananda Kutir. Whichever you choose, your Indian visa limits how long you can stay.
