Isha's visitor guides say overseas visitors need their original passport, original visa or OCI card, and a copy of their booking confirmation to check in. Because of Bureau of Immigration rules, you can't check in or join a programme without a physical, valid passport and visa (or OCI card), and no exceptions are made. Isha's Overseas Coordination Office guide adds that your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date from India (citizens of Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives are exempt from the passport requirement).
